For many new techniques or new technical applications the upfront implication regarding existing (energy) systems, a chain or society is unknown. Early recognition of opportunities and threats can mean an accelleration or decelleration of technical and sustainable developments. That may also include socio-economic effects. IWO possesses the competencies needed for general policy studies but also more practical feasability studies with (environmental) technical and (socio)economic aspects.
